Our Work
Our Work — Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Fans
Twenty years of rooftops across South East Queensland. Most of what we do never gets seen — it sits on a roof above a kitchen, moving heat, smoke and grease out of a building so a business can keep trading. These are real jobs: the fan that was rusted through, the canopy that had stopped pulling, the riser that had to come off a wall with a scaffold up.
We supply, install, repair and clean commercial kitchen exhaust fans for restaurants, cafés, clubs and pubs from Brisbane down through the Gold Coast to Northern NSW. Every job below started the same way — a call from an operator who needed extraction working again, usually quickly, usually without closing the kitchen.
The photographs are before-and-after from our own jobs. We take them on every job, because your landlord, insurer or council auditor will eventually ask for them.
BEFORE & AFTER

Rooftop upblast fan replacement — grease-logged unit taken out of service
The original cowl had been on the roof long enough for grease to soak the curb and run down the flashing. When the old unit came off, the inside told the story: a thick carbon and grease crust right through the discharge, restricting airflow and sitting directly in the path of anything hot coming up the flue.
What we did: removed the failed unit, cleaned and made good the curb, and installed a new upblast fan with a louvred motor housing that keeps the motor out of the grease stream — which is the reason the old one died. Location: [SUBURB]. Venue: [VENUE TYPE].
Kitchen exhaust fan upgrade above a working carpark
An older round upblast unit sat on a tall transition at roof level, directly above a customer carpark. Access and noise both mattered: you cannot drop a fan motor onto a carpark, and you cannot run a screaming unit above people arriving for lunch.
What we did: replaced it with a modern utility-set fan sized to the existing ductwork, reusing the riser and re-terminating the electrical into a new isolator. Better airflow at the canopy, quieter operation, and no change needed below the roof line. Location: [SUBURB]. Venue: [VENUE TYPE].
Surfers Paradise dining venue — rooftop fan replacement
A high-turnover dining and entertainment venue in the middle of Surfers Paradise. The grease streaking down the riser shows how hard this kitchen works, and how much was passing through a fan well past its service life.
What we did: swapped the old box fan for a new upblast unit on the existing curb, working around the venue’s trading hours so extraction was never down during service. Venue: [NAME — CONFIRM PERMISSION].
Beachfront high-rise — in-line fan and ductwork rebuild
A rooftop plant area on a beachfront building, where salt air had corroded the transition ducting around an ageing round in-line fan. Rust at a duct joint is not cosmetic: it leaks, it drops static pressure, and it eventually fails somewhere expensive.
What we did: installed a new in-line cabinet fan with proper access panels for servicing, fabricated new transitions either side, and rebuilt the support frame and electrical. Location: [SUBURB]. Building: [TYPE].
External duct riser replacement — scaffold access
Not every job is on a roof. This restaurant’s exhaust ran up an external wall in a narrow side access, which meant scaffold before anything else could happen, and a duct that had to come down and go back up in a laneway without disrupting the businesses either side.
What we did: erected scaffold, removed the old riser, and installed new ducting and discharge from canopy to roof level, with proper access for future cleaning and inspection. Venue: [NAME — CONFIRM PERMISSION].
Rusted cowl replaced with a serviceable roof fan
The original was a conical cowl vent, rusted through to the point where it was shedding onto the roof sheeting below. On a kitchen exhaust that is not just an eyesore: a corroded cowl means water getting into the flue and grease-laden air not getting out.
What we did: removed the cowl, made good the base, and fitted a new roof-mounted exhaust fan with an external motor housing and proper flashing. Location: [SUBURB]. Venue: [VENUE TYPE].
